In a long and detailed report titled “Ethiopia: Returned Tigrayans Detained, Abused” Human Rights Watch released today, it has reveled how Tigrayans who have been returned from Saudi Arabia have been detained and are being abused in different concentration camps in Addis Ababa, Afar, Oromia (Jimma) and Southern Nation and Nationalities.

Human Rights watch said “Ethiopian authorities have detained, mistreated, and forcibly disappeared thousands of ethnic Tigrayans recently deported from Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia should stop holding Tigrayans in abhorrent conditions and deporting them to Ethiopia.”

Yome Post, which is the official Facebook Page of, has been reporting about this all year long, but it is good that international human rights and humanitarian organizations are reporting it now.

Let’s not forget that this report is only about the detention of Tigrayans who returned from Saudi Arabia. As everybody knows, hundreds of thousands of Tigrayans from Amhara, Afar, Addis Ababa, etc., have also been rounded up and taken to different concentration camps through out Ethiopia under a draconian State of Emergency law.
